Newbury Wine Festival

Newbury Wine FestivalNewbury, Berkshire, is to host a mass of independent wine merchants for its first Wine Festival.

To be held over two days – October 13th and 14th 2007 at The Corn Exchange, Market Place, the event hopes to attract 20 wine merchants offering a broad spectrum of wines to taste from £5 and upward.

Confirmed participants include The Vineking, Amordivino, Irma Fingal-Rock, Church House Vintners and Nick Dobson Wines.

In addition there will be a series of ‘masterclass’ tastings –

Spaces are limited to 50 people per session and so please book this early if you would like to join in. Tickets for the Masterclasses are just £2.50 per person. If you would like to gain some experience of wine tasting, and receive some great advice, please come along to our Tasting Masterclasses. They will run for approximately 45 minutes at 12.00 and 2.00 each day upstairs in the Corn Exchange Bar. Wines will be presented by the Independent retailers during which we will provide information on the individual characteristics of the wines, and what you should be looking for when you taste wine generally.

Tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the door.

    This sounds like fantastic news, we are wine lovers in the west berkshire area and have been waiting for something like this for years. I have just been on the website for the venue Corn Exchange, and ordered my tickets….only £8.00 to try over 100 wines…..fantastic!
