The BBC is running a short series, innovatively entitled “Wine”, although it is as much about people as wine. This documentary series of 3 episodes goes behind the scenes in the wine industry and is narrated by Matthew Macfadyen, starting on BBC4 TV on Monday 16 February 2008 at 9pm (with various re-transmissions) .
The first episode concentrates on respected and long-established London wine merchant Berry Bros & Rudd and includes the key people as well as some of their winemakers (large and small)

Great series; wish for more episodes. A weakness of the third episode was that the drinking problem in SA was not explained. The workers drink so much because there was traditionally a “dop system” whereby they were traditionally paid with a combination of cash and alcohol.
I would really like a copy of this program does anyone know where I can order it?
