English Wine Week 2009 takes place from 23-31 May 2009
, and will feature numerous events across the country to celebrate English Wine (and food) – and offers a great excuse to visit a vineyard, meet producers, attend special events and taste the wines.
From Devon to Kent. from East Anglia to the north you will be able to participate – just check out the English Wine Producers’ website at www.englishwineweek.co.uk.
For example, Pebblebed Vineyards in Devon was established in 2002. The Eden Community Vineyard continues to thrive and prosper, with some 20 local families tending the vines throughout the year, harvesting the grapes, and reaping the benefits in wine and social experience.on 23 May they are offering a vineyard tour at one of their three organically-run vineyards at Ebford. Starting at 4.00pm the tour will be personally conducted by founder Geoff Bowen.
