Chipping Campden based independent wine merchant Bennetts Fine Wines is taking over Shipston-on-Stour merchants Edward Sheldon from 23 November. Edward Sheldon is a long-established business with excellent original premises in Shipston-on-Stour (Warwickshire) with purpose-built cellars.
With our award winning range of wines from Burgundy, Italy and the New World, combined with their depth in Bordeaux and the Rhone we now have one of the most comprehensive and exciting ranges of fine wines in the UK
This side of Christmas the two shops will continue to operate on the usual basis and in the New Year the process of combining the two lists will commence.
Both businesses serve the well-heeled locals and are strong in fine, Old World wines – but both also feature some exciting and innovative selections from elsewhere. such that you can always find something interesting and surprising – and of consistently good quality such as New Zealand Kumeu River Sauvignons from Bennetts and The Post Tree Chenin Blanc from South Africa (Edward Sheldon)
Another potential Bennett benefit will be online ordering for Edward Sheldon’s list which is not available at present – Established in 1842, Sheldon’s only offer a downloadable price list at the moment!
