Bibendum Bordeaux Tasting

For various reasons I have never managed to make a Bibendum wine tasting; sadly, I’m not going to be able to make this one either (I’m off to Spain) but you can as this, fine sounding Bordeaux tasting, is open to the public. Featuring 53 Chateaux, in addition to barrel samples of 2006, each Chateau is bringing other recent – and available – vintages to show, allowing tasters to compare between recent years.

Anthony Barton, newly named Decanter Man of the Year and one of Bordeaux’s most respected winemakers, will be on hand to pour vintages of his Langoa and Leoville Barton wines at the Bibendum Annual Bordeaux Tasting at Lord’s Cricket Ground on April 25th.

Barton joins a stellar line up of Bordelais producers including Chateaux Lynch Bages, Figeac, La Conseillante, Talbot, Lafon Rochet and around fifty others at the event. Olivier Berrouet, winemaker at Cheval Blanc and Yquem will, as last year, be on hand to pour recent vintages of those two legendary wines.

Bibendum Bordeaux Tasting at Lord’s (Nursery Pavilion, Lord’s Cricket Ground NW8. Entrance: North Gate) on 25th April 4-8pm. At £30 a ticket it represents a bit of a bargain for Bordeaux fans. For tickets call 020 7449 4120 or email sales@bibendum-wine.co.uk.
